Rocky Mountain Raceways Opens Midgets Program to 12-13 Year Olds
Rocky Mountain Raceways opens Midgets program to 12-13 year olds
Dec. 24, 2016
WEST VALLEY CITY – Rocky Mountain Raceways will expand its Midgets racing program for the upcoming 2017 season. Going forward, the class will be open to 12- and 13-year-olds.
This move comes at the decision of RMR General Manager Mike Eames and Oval Track Manager Dan Beach, but it comes with some specific qualifications:
A. Driver will not be allowed to race in the Midget class until his or her 12th birthday.
B. Driver must have one year experience driving the Jr. Stinger class at RMR, or two years experience driving the RMR Quarter Midget program, or two years experience driving a youth go kart program.
Rule B will be waived if the driver is currently racing a Midget at another facility and proof is provided.
- Driver must meet with Oval Manager and pass a racing knowledge test in order to apply for a RMR driver membership.
As we look ahead to the 2017 season, the team at RMR is energized by the thought of yet another season of racing. We express our gratitude for the support of our racing families and the thousands of fans who enjoy racing as much as we do.
